The K-Lab was founded on the principle that students need to relate with their academics in order to reach their full potential. We have altered the traditional tutoring paradigm in terms of environment, staff, and instruction in order to make us more effective in helping students develop good study habits and raise their grades.

Environment
In contrast to the traditional classroom set-up, the K-Lab has developed an environment that encourages students to have a positive association with learning. At The K-Lab, students write math problems directly on our chalkboard-tables, write their homework assignments on our white board walls, and enjoy healthy snacks from our fully stocked kitchen.  From custom wall-murals to couches, students feel relaxed and comfortable in our environment in a way that encourages them to get their work done.

Staff
Our staff is student-friendly and knows how to relate well with teenagers. We have a +12 rule where no staff member is more than 12 years older than the students. Instead of the traditional authoritarian relationship, we have peer-to-peer relationships with our students that have been successful in fostering open communication, honesty, and an increase in the desire and motivation to learn.

Instruction
We believe education should be fun, exciting, and creative. We customize programs based on this principle, as well as the needs and learning styles of each individual student. At The K-Lab, you can be assured your student will never complain about having to go to tutoring.
